FRIDAY, JULY 24TH
So we have now traveled from Bellingham, Washington to Forks, Washington. We have been riding all day and get into town and there are no rooms at the inn. We try every motel and they are all booked. Ever here of the movie and book, Twilight? Evidently all lot of it takes place here and every teenage girl in 15 countries comes here to take pictures....Go figure! By the grace of God we did get a room last minute.

ALMOST TO THE ARTIC CIRCLE
We finally made it to the Dalton Hwy!!This is the road that goes to the Artic Circle approx. 140 miles from here. The pavement ends and the gravel begins. It was so rough and full of pot holes that it shook the bike to pieces. We decided to stop there and return to Fairbanks and took a nap...so tired!!! I was disappointed for Ron that he didn't get to the Circle, but it was unsafe to go any further. Oh well, he's happy!
This country is so beautiful...but I think we hit the rainy season. Everyday we have been in rain. We went 200 miles today which with road construction, rain and watching for local wildlife is a long ride, and made it to Fairbanks...YEAH!! Tommorow we are going to try to make it up the pipeline road to the Artic Circle. We heard that section of road is really bad for our type of bikes, but we'll see.

What do you know...we made it to the Yukon territory! We are back on schedule (Ron is happy)!
Started out rainy but beautiful when we left Ft. Nelson. On the way we saw moose, caribou, bears, lots of bears....deer, buffalo and wild mountain sheep with big horns. Rode 345 miles and ended up in Lake Watson in the Yukon territory. The mountains were spectacular!!!!

FRIDAY THE 10TH OF JULY
Hi everyone, sorry we haven't blogged for a couple of days, but things have been pretty hairy...
We finally got our bike out of the shop in Calgary at 3:00pm in the afternoon and headed out. We rode 300 miles that day and ended up in a little town called Whitecourt. We passed right on through but had to turn around as we got into one of the worst storms we have ever seen. We were about 2o miles outside of town when it hit. It was pitch black and thunder, lightning and rain so hard it hurt our legs. Couldn't see anything and only by the grace of God and Rons sixth sense did we make it back to town just as a lightning bolt hit right by the motel and blew all the lights out in the city.

What a day, we changed in our money for Canadian, rode across the border and about an hour in, Ron's bike broke down. He to get a tow truck and loaded his bike on it and truck it into the next town. There we had to get a U-Haul and load both bikes and truck them into Calgary. Then we got to our room and went to check the back of the truck and Ron's bike had tipped over because of all of the oil that was coming out of the final drive. We hope they can fix it tommorow. If not, we may have to change our plans a little.

What a crazy day today was! We left Dillon, Montana this morning and headed north. We had a small mishap with Ron's helmet when it fell off the bike and crashed it to pieces. We stopped in Butte and found a place where we bought him a new one. Ron is happy! They had a Starbucks down the street, Tanna is happy. After our coffee break we hit it hard and just after Helena we got into some pretty extreme weather. I have never riden in such torrential rain and 65 mile and hour winds. The Lord was watching over us for sure. We had bad weather the rest of the day. We are now in Conrad , Mt. for the night. One hour to the Canadian border. Onward tommorow!!
